In my duties as "Assistant Scout Master" in California, I was "Merit Badge Counselor" for the activities of Cycling, Kayaking, Paddle Board, Skiing and Roller Skating and am therefore able to accompany you in the leisure practice of these sports.

MALIBU SAN FRANCISCO SAN DIEGO WHY BERNICE? ​ During our many years in California - in the San Francisco Bay Area, my older American friends regularly got the wrong name and called me Bernice instead of Beatrice. They had to combine my husband BERNard and me BeatrICE in a single first name! ​ We found this wonderful property by chance during a family holiday and decided to buy it to allow our four children scattered between Europe and North America to have a place to meet. Villa Bernice is made up of 4 units, three of which we rent regularly during the summer San Francisco - bungalow for two - usually free the last two weeks of June and the first two weeks of September. You will be in a very quiet place, ideally located to discover the magnificent coast from Toulon to Saint Tropez (Le Pradet, Giens, Hyères, Porquerolles). The swimming pool is to be shared with the owners and 2 other guests. The coastal cycle path allows you to go from Hyeres to Toulon, in a rural setting and totally protected from car traffic. Each bungalow / apartment has its own private space (outdoor lounge and garden) ​ Each bungalow / apartment can freely enjoy the swimming pool and barbecue. MALIBU The bungalow sits right at the entrance to the property, sheltered in a bamboo grove. In front is a small gravel courtyard with garden furniture, including a table and seating for outdoor dining . The Malibu vibe is accentuated by surrounding bamboos, palm trees and the " LA vintage" decor...which is still a work in progress. ​ Your bedroom overlooks the garden and swimming pool. It has a comfortable Queen size bed (140x200), a bedside table, a chest of drawers, a clothing rack and a small desk facing the garden. The kitchen has a fridge, two induction burners, a combi microwave / grill, coffee maker, toaster and an eectric kettle. A television is alsovat your disposal. The internet connection is of fairly good quality thanks to a "Google mesh pod". BOOKING

Comfortable bed (but hardly a queen size). Beautiful garden and swimming pool, you feel like you are in an oasis of greenery. Very fast Wi-Fi, perfect for identifying the many visits in the surroundings. The coves of Magaud and Mejean offer incredible views and are accessible by a less than 30 minute walk. Thanks to the bike path, we were able to ride to the port of Toulon and enjoy an amazing breakfast! Very warm welcome from our hosts Beatrice and Bernard. Of course, we had to take a ride to the seaside and we were offered to use bicycles to get there. Our studio was called Malibu and deserved its name because of the decoration. Two other signs indicated San Diego and San Francisco at the exit of the grove of bamboos. We took advantage of the cicadas concert during the day but you have to bring mosquito repellent! The property is charming and the hostess Beatrice is as warm as she is funny. She will provide you with information on request for walks or local restaurants. It was our first visit to Toulon and we got a good idea of all the town has to offer, including a breakfast on the harbor and a tour of the Provencal market. RATES ​ ​ The rates presented below are in addition to the rental price of the San Francisco or Malibu bungalow or the San Diego apartment. Contact me for availability. The immersion stay can be for you alone or shared with another person, provided that your levels of French comprehension are equivalent so that you can progress significantly. Throughout the week, you will have a minimum of 35 hours of exchanges in French with me (and my husband - if he takes his meals at the same time as us). ​ One single person: 1,410 euros Second person: 540 euros ​ All meal costs and activities proposed above are included as well as local trips by bus or car up to 50 km during the day. ​ For the excursions, remain at your expense: your own meal costs, train tickets, museum/exhibition entrance fees, parking fees and 50 cents / km beyond 50 km per excursion (unlimited if we use your own vehicle ).
